Some of those bins can be too heavy to carry by hand, let alone carry across the entire store to actually put things back on shelves. It’s just more management making dumb decisions because they feel like being management justifies making dumb decisions. That happened for a short while at my store, when I worked there. I don’t remember it lasting very long though, lol. It might be easier to follow the rule if associates were given the proper tools (in this case, something to carry the returns properly) to do their job though. Doesn’t happen a lot, if at all. This happened at my store 3 years ago. We were all like “well that’s some bullshit that won’t last 2 weeks”. They tried to enforce it hard for roughly that…a couple weeks, as if it was some holy new rule from CEO Jesus. However after a couple of weeks we all pretty much said screw this and returned to business as usual. It honestly seems like corporate makes new rules that are out of touch that they want to flaunt as if they really worked the old noggin deeper than anyone with these brilliant ideas to show us they really do work and not just sit on their ass all day because they are working so hard at coming up with these brilliant new rules that nobody likes. They get their pat on the back, told what a hard worker and brilliant visionary they are then once they return to their juice box and crib we all go back to doing things the way we always did as it’s more efficient.

We can’t use shopping carts either. At my store, there is an OGP cart I think that is used. That shit is disappointing; I’m sorry! go outside 10miles around the store. find homeless people they have your stores cart. retrieve it and solve your store’s cart dilemma
