Speak to your manager first as they may pay you for the Funny 32 years of Ed Sheeran 1991 2023 thank you for the memories signature shirt and by the same token and extra half hour, if not speak to ACAS. Also its good in these situations to record your own times, take photos of the clock machine if you can to show times which you can use as evidence. how long was your shift? if you work over a certain time you legally have to take a lunch break, i work for the gov and if i go the full day without taking lunch, 30 mins will be deducted from my hours worked for that day There is likely a company policy that requires employees to take a 45 minute break if they work a full shift, the only legal requirement is a 20 minute break for a 6 hour day but companies usually offer more. Violating this policy would look bad for your manager so they are covering themselves by clocking you out for the whole break even though you were working. Letting you choose not to take the breaks is legal but would require written consent from yourself, if this hasn’t been obtained then your manager should not be allowing you to take less than the full break even if you don’t mind.

It is illegal to not pay you for time worked so your manager is breaking the Funny 32 years of Ed Sheeran 1991 2023 thank you for the memories signature shirt and by the same token and law to avoid being seen to break company policy. As a first step it would be worth pointing this out (preferably via text or email so you have a paper trail) before trying to persue things further. I believe you’re legally required to take twenty mins break for every six hours of work. This is mandatory so at my work I’ll have that factored in whether I take the break or not – if I work through it that’s my problem and the official record will still show the legally required break. I was a McDonald’s manager in when I was studying and you have to to take your full break. It is in your contract and it is explained to you. If you choose not to use your full 45 minutes then it leads to issues because there is no such thing as unlimited OT. The circumstances for OT are super niche and you can’t just decide to do OT randomly during a shift, it creates problems, a manager has to ask you to do it. They shouldn’t be adjusting your time card so you do need to discuss that with them but you also shouldn’t be deciding to do OT and take shorter breaks without speaking to a manager first.
