I’m a cashier, and my team lead announced to us today that we’re no longer allowed to use shopping carts for collecting/pushing returns because “the Five Don’t Wanna Let You Go Shirt Also,I will get this carts are for the customers!” Is this happening anywhere else? Am I being overdramatic? I’m not sure how we’re supposed to keep up our level of productivity without the shopping cartsThat has always been policy. Your store, and tbh most stores, chose to break it. This. They always do this shit. It’s impossible to put away all that loose crap from a top stock cart, if you can even find one to use. You probably have a corporate visit coming. Once the corporate people have fucked back off to HO, they’ll let you use carts again Every time they try to pull that shit I just take small armloads of items and slowly put items back. Want to screw with me? I’ll waste company time doing returns. Company says it costs the store $500 everytime an associate uses a cart so we can’t use them. Their reasoning is that you can fit up to $500 in a cart so any employee use is preventing a customer from using it even though there are plenty of carts. Basicslly it is just hire ups applying a fake value to something.

What kind of logic is that? So if I use one as a customer and don’t buy anything do I cost the Five Don’t Wanna Let You Go Shirt Also,I will get this store $500? And that only even applies if us employees are using the carts and there aren’t any left for customers. As long as there are carts available that doesn’t make sense even using their “logic” Welcome to corporate thinking. They don’t work in stores so all they know is paper. If it makes sense on paper it makes sense in the store. I’ve heard people from corporate who sit at a desk telling us how to do our job are also trying to figure out how to eliminate us because they think store employees are not needed. They have been slowly reducing employee headcount for years and now wonder why theft is so high when they don’t have anyone working in the stores anymore.
