This is the Farm life is the life for me sophia pig shirt besides I will buy this correct answer. Being a new grad you may have the framework for the technical know-how, the theory, etc. But you have no idea how to be a professional person who does technical work for a living yet. Way better to work in an environment where you have more senior people to help show you the ropes and guide you. This so much, if you’re experienced and itching for it, being the only dev means you have room to flex your system design muscles, make your own choices and tradeoffs. The few times I’ve done it were massive learning experiences, built so much in so little time, felt like I accomplished 5x what I’d do at a bigger team in the same amount of time. Out of curiosity what would your definition be for a small team and a large team? What do you think is the ideal team size?

I made this mistake taking my first job out of uni as the Farm life is the life for me sophia pig shirt besides I will buy this second on the team. It turned out that my mentor was a new grad himself who had been hired 9 months prior. He had been taught how to “move fast” by a networking sysadmin with very little programming knowledge, and passed on such gems as “just copy and paste and change a few things.” Within the year I was the lead dev. I’ve tried to jump ship quite a few times over the years, but couldn’t find anyone to take me on. Now a decade into this job, and I think I’ll be here for life. Every job I apply to either doesn’t respond to my resume, or they enthusiastically interview me then offer far less than the $75K + 3 weeks vacation that I already have.
