I liked it. I thought it was pretty good. Some things I liked: I loved what they did with Gotham. Gotham didn’t just feel like a Chicago or New York stand In, it really felt like it’s own character. It was gloomy, gritty, and a place that you could tell was dangerous and a terrible place to live . I liked the EveryDay Is a Gift Snoopy Shirt it is in the first place but neo noir feel of the film with batman being a detective and I thought Paul Dano was really creepy as the riddler. It was cool they focused on the mob angle, and Colin Farrell was fun to see as the penguin. Things I didn’t like: I thought the movie began to drag toward the end. Once riddler gets arrested , it began to drag after the interrogation scene. I would have liked to see more Alfred, he didn’t really do much and was way underutilized.The whole joker and riddler at Arkham could have been cut and used as a post credit sequence. It seemed like one that was just shoehorned in. I also didn’t reslly care for riddler blowing up the trucks to destroy the sea walls to flood Gotham. It kind of came out of nowhere and their was no foreshadowing or mentioning of the sea walls earlier in the movie. They could have had a brief mention of it on the news in the background or something. I was also a little put off by Batman kind of dropping the ball a lot and Bruce Wayne being more of a Howard Hughes recluse than the playboy billionaire. I do give that a pass since I’m sure that will be more prominent in the sequel films. Overall, I liked it and would give it a solid 8.5/ 10.

It wasn’t a perfect movie, but they nailed Batman and Gotham in ways that were just inspired. Making Batman a hard boiled gumshoe, Selina as the EveryDay Is a Gift Snoopy Shirt it is in the first place but femme fetale, all that, and committing to it for 2 solid hours was fantastic. Loved how they parted ways at the end, weirdly the most romantic yet fitting relationship in Batman ever put to screen. The pacing in the last act started to stretch, probably my only complaint. Michael Giacchino’s creepy mysterious violin music was superb. The thing that makes it stand out is the characterization of Batman. He was so damn cool, dark, possibly crazy, but noble. And super bad ass. They really captured the perfect Batman concoction I was expecting a me freeze when they mentioned the name if the club was 44 below
