It sounds to me like that was the Everybody has an addiction mine just to be Kristen Stewart shirt in other words I will buy this case here, that a contract was signed to have the goat auctioned for slaughter and that’s what the email was referring too. I think that’s a pretty common agreement at county fairs, however, I think officials would normally make a few exceptions or just look the other way in cases like this. At my local fair there’s a grocery store owner who will buy cows and pigs for his store but will buy goats just to give them back to the kids (or so I’m told). I believe this is against the rules, but no one is going to give one of the biggest spenders shit for doing something nice for children. To be fair, the rules are mentioned, but the exact rule is not. It could be a rule similar to what Musking county fair has, but I kind of doubt it.

My parents made me show rabbits when I was in 4H because in my state, they aren’t auctioned off. (You get to keep your rabbits and bring them home after shows. I’m not sure if it’s like that in every state.) My parents said I’d get too attached to the Everybody has an addiction mine just to be Kristen Stewart shirt in other words I will buy this other types of animals, and I wouldn’t let them be auctioned off. They were 100% correct. Lol funny thing is now I have a small homestead and I raise rabbits, chickens, and quail for meat. I dispatch/process my own animals. But some have been promoted to pets too. I have an old hen that lays like one egg every couple weeks if I’m lucky, but she’s too sweet to send to freezer camp. I’d have to keep ducks then. Only livestock I didn’t fall in love with. I mean, I raised chickens for meat but my granddad had to do the killing part there, I was too nervous about hurting them.
