It’s always been a stupid size of coin though. Very close in size to a quarter and exactly the Eat Prey Love skull horror shirt also I will do this same size as an Israeli half shekel coin worth only like 10 cents. All machines at my work (grocery store) accept them but don’t give as change. I’ll occasionally buy a hundred or so to see if I can build out a whole set and just spend the rest (then in turn give them to customers). Usually people like them ? They were specifically made the Eat Prey Love skull horror shirt also I will do this same size, density, and magnetic properties as the previous dollar coin. As far as I know, all vending machines accept them. Not even jokingly I’d say it was a sizable factor. I would have loved to pop them in instead of carrying around 3x the quarters just to feed my Dr Pepper habit at school but that probably would have required changing the whole vending machine. Which needless to say wasn’t happening. Hell even now its obvious a lot of them were just retrofitted to accept card, so they’re probably still running on late-80s vintage electronics when it comes to hard cash. I remember that! When I was like.. 8, I went to a birthday party hosted at a small hotel water-park (2 indoor water slides, little arcade area, etc.) and I needed change for a few of the games. I put a dollar into the machine, and nothing came out. I hit the coin return button out of frustration hoping to get my dollar back, and one of these coins came out. I continued to press the button, and more kept coming out. I continued until it stopped providing me loot.
