Macy’s was pissed because they had held an iconic Billboard on their building for decades, and the Dude Where’s My Toe Funny Amputee Amputation Wheelchair Premium T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this Amazon that was moving next door took it over. They must have paid an incredible fortune to buy the Billboard while coercing the billboards owner to not allow Macy’s to match it. Now that Amazon is going, Macy’s can get it back. I guess the owner will be pleased at that single year’s windfall, although he was probably hoping to get that every year. It’s almost as though there’s this big company out there that runs a service that’s more enticing to customers and makes brick and mortar stores harder to run… 4 star in our mall. It’s always crazy packed, and the stuff is the same price, so unless I desperately need a potato peeler with a character on it RIGHT NOW, why would I stand in line for 30min?

There’s been one next to my work that’s been “coming soon” for like a year. They have one right next to me which is super convenient for returns. I hope they still keep the return lockers or even expand them. Dang! It LOOKS like the stores are losing $ but storefronts create brand presence and interest and actually boost online sales. Having a small retail footprint pays off in the long run.
