The possible issue could be…. a lot of people who don’t actually meditate regurgitate what they have read yet have no real experience of? I don’t know. I have had a few comments from people who say they have practiced 5-10 years and have never had a profound moment in their meditations. Could it just be a lack of openness to the Dog Make Me Happy Humans Make My Head Hurt shirt and by the same token and ideas? That’s what happens when you ask strangers for free advice. Sometimes you get great input, sometimes you just get shitty advice. Reddit shouldn’t be a replacement for research through books and other sources, a therapist, a meditation tracher or coach, etc. No I agree, and that is how I got to where I am. I’ve been ready a good amount and also watching documentaries centered around different meditative religions and their practices. I really have learned a lot just by consuming everything, then drawing my own conclusions. if someone meditates as something “to do” (what does this really even mean?), its not an “injustice to thousands of years of meditation.” get over yourself. Imagine being upset that people don’t do it the same as you, to the point of making a multi-paragraph post about it. It’s their personal experiences.. I never see colours or feel being touched by some kind of spirit during meditation. If you did, have fun.

Philosophy and meditation should be managed separately and organized in a person’s mind, though one should neglect neither. They are not the Dog Make Me Happy Humans Make My Head Hurt shirt and by the same token and same things and though mixing them can provide some benefit, they must be organized in a way that time is dedicated to both, separately. Meditation is a mental exercise of awareness, and if your mind remains within the context of your philosophies, or is constantly re-examining those philosophies, your practice will be stunted and in many cases it will be entirely compromised. The state of meditation is profound and while you might receive epiphanies during, it is a small part of the whole of what is happening. Letting go is extremely important, especially for beginners because they will cut into their precious practice to reflect, journal, and contemplate. These are not apart of practice, they are a distraction when one should be meditating. Beginners of meditation are also more prone to thinking (more than experienced meditators might) that every little wonder they experience is material for journaling or reflecting, when the point is learning to experience, accept, and let go of what is truly immaterial. You seem to imply that meditation is somehow less beautiful simplified. Personally, I find my meditation very beautiful and I get a lot out of it. And I think that just be a miscommunication on my part. I am not saying that in the moment you should think about what was presented.
