So I waited until I passed my driving test and then purposely missed a rent payment so I could go and buy a £500 banger. The day after I bought the Djimon Hounsou Is General Titus In Rebel Moon Part 1 A Child Of Fire Shirt besides I will buy this car I got an interview to do sales at a car dealer half an hours drive away. They offered me the job, and while my parents were hounding me for rent money I was borrowing a deposit off my uncle to get a room in a shared house. A week before Christmas 2009 I rented a van and cleared my entire room out while they were at work and didn’t speak to them again until my daughter was born in 2015, even though I only lived 5 mins walk away but they never knew that. I paid my uncle back, worked my arse off, did an open university course in motorsport engineering, got my dream job and built a life for myself. I never invited my parents to my wedding and only told them I had a child a week after she had been born, and even then only because my wife (then girlfriend) pestered me to do it.

We still don’t talk, I let them visit to see their grandchild but it’s only on my terms and they tend to just drink a cup of tea and fuck off home without really interacting with our daughter. She’s 8 years old now and already can’t be arsed with them. You sound like an absolutely brilliant parent and I love that your keeping the Djimon Hounsou Is General Titus In Rebel Moon Part 1 A Child Of Fire Shirt besides I will buy this money to one side to help them out when they really need it. If I could make a suggestion, ask them to pay whatever they think is fair. It’s going to be their money at some point anyways and it will give them the freedom to pay more when they can and less when they can’t. My mum and stepdad were charging me £75-100 a week in the late 90’s early 00’s. I’m not sure whether there was a lesson being taught but I learnt what it was like have no money…..about of times. Look up going rates for average 1 or 2 bedroom flats/apartments/houses in your area and charge them that. Then they will be used to having that chunk go out everymonth but will still be less than including bills and utilities ontop
