The U.K. does have ticks (I found one on my leg just this week), but that’s only the Dirty Dancing I Carried a Watermelon American romantic drama dance T-Shirt Also,I will get this 2nd tick I’ve ever encountered in my 60 years, and I’ve lived in the countryside most of that time. If you’re in London you’re unlikely to encounter one, unless you find a spot with long grass and make a habit of wading through it with bare legs. I don’t think they’re anything to be overly concerned about – some ticks in the U.K. carry Lyme disease, most don’t. Apparently other tick-borne diseases are rarer here than is the case in other European countries. AFAIK, Lyme disease can be cleared up by antibiotics if caught early, so in the fairly unlikely event that you get bitten, just keep an eye on the site if the bite and contact your doctor if you get a rash. (Google the symptoms). Yes I got one in spring after going running along a canal footpath in an urban area. Was pretty sure I didn’t brush against any foliage so it must have jumped. You are less likely to get Lyme Disease than you would be elsewhere but it is still worth being careful.

Yep, I was bitten on the Dirty Dancing I Carried a Watermelon American romantic drama dance T-Shirt Also,I will get this back of the neck by one the other week. I’m in South-East England and have never seen or heard of this happening to anyone, so I had no idea what it was at first. Only found out after taking pictures of the offender and lots of Googling. NHS website recommends keeping the affected area clean and only seeing a doctor about it if it turns into a rash or I get signs of flu. Yep. Pulled a couple off my old cat, and a friend found one crawling across the floor of his tent on a camping trip. I make a point of giving myself a thorough examination after I get home from every airsoft game because Lyme disease is no joke. Some areas are worse than others. I had 10 on both legs after one walk. Just a case of removing them after the walk with the correct tool and no damage is done.
