I have seen this a lot, especially when the Demon Showdown vintage shirt moreover I will buy this carrier is the Post Office(US). Days pass, the PO has not received the package, finally, it’s moving. I suspect it’s a good way for the shipper/vendor to blame the Post Office, “oh, of course it’s taking forever, it’s the government”. I have also had UPS get a package, sit on it for a couple of days and finally the package is delivered by…my mail carrier. No one expects USPS to deliver anything quickly. Alot of moving parts within USPS. There are a lot of scans you can’t see on the tracking but we can. The first situation you described is basically travel time from a sorting facility -> freight -> sorting facility -> trailer truck -> delivering post office. Youll start seeing scans from like the freight truck part.

The 2nd situation is simply a “handoff”. USPS is the Demon Showdown vintage shirt moreover I will buy this only company that can “technically” reach every address. Knowing that, UPS & USPS has a deal in place to let UPS handoff packages to deliver. I’m probably missing a few details in that but that’s the general part of it. I only hate it cuz they always give us the big ass boxes lmao. Some of it is because some companies like Amazon and others will ding the shipper if it doesn’t show as “shipped” within a specific timeframe. So a lot of times they’ll just print the label and attach it even if it’s not going to ship for a couple more days. Also USPS’s tracking system is really bad compared to the others out there. sometimes takes up to 24 hours to start updating the system and giving a projected delivery date. Also when you get the notification that it’s out for delivery it may not even leave the shipping facility for 2-3 hours afterwards. The notification goes out as soon as your package gets scanned today truck but that truck may not actually leave until a couple hours later depending on the timing. Also it can be scanned off the truck if that truck gets too many packages or has some other issue at the distribution hub
