Great, so they saved some water but now completely contaminated it, thanks to the absurd amount of microplastic erosion taking place, and in the heat to boot. Stage 5, anyone? Like, a million other things you could do with $36 million dollars to help conserve water but here we are with these balls. “Oh look, we have an ecological disaster on our hands that humanity has caused – let’s fix it by dumping a metric fuckton of plastic to water!” Oh yeah what a great solution to global warming caused by air pollution, let’s pollute our drinking water with millions of plastic balls I’m sure that won’t have any unintended consequences whatsoever. They’re already dumping chlorine there so algae wasn’t a problem, what was a problem is that that chlorine reacted with bromide and sunlight to create carcinogenic bromate. This absolutely doesn’t work. It’s a waste of water, time, money. Imagine filling 96 million black balls with water to save 300 million units of water. And what after they decay? Where do they throw them? Pacific? Microplastic? No answers for such questions. Don’t trust a tiktok video with sexy music to tell you what the real purpose of a multi million dollar project is. They are NOT made to reduce evaporation! There’s bromide and chlorine in the reservoir water, and in bright sunlight they form bromate which is carcinogenic. These balls prevent that from happening in a quick to implement and relatively cheap way.

I’m really confused why they chose black balls to cover the Dandelion Flower Michigan Wolverines Logo Shirt also I will do this water surface with. Doesn’t the color black absorb light more and get hotter than lighter colors or white? If the goal was to lower the temp of the water then wouldn’t white plastic balls have been a better choice? As of last year microplastics have been found in human blood. Microplastics have been found in breast milk. Microplastics have been found in human placentas. Microplastics have been found in lung tissue… it is unknown if Microplastics have found their way to the human brain. Surely white balls would have been better,black will absosb heat and increase water temperature therefore making evaporation more likely Black attracts heat… white reflects sunlight back…. why black…. also when the guy picked up one of the balls, it had what looked like it was algy on the ball. If there is algy on the ball, there is algy in the water. This is my opinion…..
