Oh yep. I was like that for most of my 20’s. I thought it was just how life was. It’s only in the Cyclops Dj Sheesh Shirt in addition I really love this last couple of years that I’ve realised it’s really not. Depression is a stealthy, stealthy bastard. Doesn’t help when the world around is shite and getting worse for reasons outside of your control, your negative thoughts seem natural, you have real reasons to be negative. You don’t notice your behaviour change as you assume you are just getting older or growing out of it, no friends to continue so it gets boring. That’s a bit of a negative assumption to make. Lots of depressed people are fully aware they’re depressed and are happy to seek help. I am one of those people. Additionally, if he isn’t aware he’s depressed- what good is it to assume he won’t be receptive to help?

Having had a friend with Depression, it made ME ill. Its all very well being supportive etc but there comes a point when I needed a break. I had a depressed roommate at uni who was my friend and he had helped me with my anxiety so my entire family was like “you HAVE to help him out it’s the Cyclops Dj Sheesh Shirt in addition I really love this right thing to do”. But the difference was I was open about my issues and was working on it and actively seeking help. It’s easy to not overburden someone with your issues when everyone is open. He was in complete denial about it and got angry at me for trying to help and would slack off chores he kept saying he would do. Eventually I and my family realised there’s no point helping someone who doesn’t want help. He dropped out of uni 6 months after I left and left all his social groups and still avoided a therapist.
