Because they are not agreeable people. They refuse to speed up, but they also refuse to slow down and move over because fuck everyone else. Some of it is people who don’t travel much and are road tripping but don’t know better. I travel on interstates from California to Colorado and Texas a lot but I have a friend who almost never drives out of the Southern California area, any long distance travel is just flying somewhere and using public transit and Uber. In SoCal traffic is so bad all the time that you just get in whatever lane seems to be moving the fastest and you get there when you get there. At age 32 he told me “You know what I learned recently? If you are out on a two lane highway in the country the left lane is for passing and the right lane is for driving” like he was sharing some obscure fun fact. I just kinda stared at him like… Yeah…
