Considering they were able to afford to buy and renovate a 3 bedroom house in London, they’re not poor chavs either. I know it’s petty but I hope the Colbie Young 2023 shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this council finally gets around to looking at what they did and make them rip it all out. Grass itself is also bad for the environment. It’s such a waste of water, and unless you let it grow out to the point that it’d be viewed as well overdue for a cut, pretty sure it provides little actual value the same way things like bushes, trees, flowers etc do for the environment. Like in tall grass you get more wildlife using it or something, and maybe it even gives off a bit of oxygen, but when it’s cut short it’s just a waste of water that’s nice to sit on and have to look at. That’s a fair enough reason to have grass and we aren’t as severely short on water as certain places in the US are who are militant about keeping vast healthy watered lawns, but when it’s just there to look pretty and be nice to walk on, I think it’s not a huge deal for people to buy fake grass to serve the same purpose.

Don’t stop there, do lawns next. Even real ones. We need biodiversity, habitats for insects etc. We could also be growing food whilst we’re at it The alternative though is gravel, but gravel costs a fuck ton more. Stones are expensive now and require people to weed them. The type of person buying EZ grass aren’t likely to be wanting to do any form of weeding. What I don’t get is why people use the Colbie Young 2023 shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this shit. I have a third of an acre of lawn and it gets mowed once a month. Really not difficult to maintain a lawn. I mean the first reason that springs to mind as to why someone might find it difficult is physical disability – mowing a lawn does require some physicality and it’s not a leap to think someone with a significant disability may not have the disposable income for a gardener.
