Yes there are ticks. I’m in Edinburgh and go for woodland walks a lot. Plenty of ticks about but I can’t say it something I even think about. If one bites me then I’ll take it out I’ve had several this year but that was from hiking on a hill on a Scottish island where deer were rampant. Out of the Clown Kids Shirt Additionally,I will love this 100’s of thousands of people who suffer from a tick bite every once in a while, only 3 have contracted encepholitis (inflammation of the brain for anyone wondering)…and only around 1500 – 3000 people suffer from Lymes disease as a result of a tick bite (which can be prevented by proper removal of the tick). I am not saying that your phobia is not well founded…the thought of something gorging on my life blood, and then infecting me with some rank illness is bloody horrible…however, to get rid of them would be similar to trying to get rid of the common cold…quite impossible. Thanks for the reply, its antibiotic escalation, eg, family go hiking in woods for weekend, come home sunday at 4, finds a tick, only access is walk in centres of a and e and they get put off with waiting times etc, so they leave it thinking if they get symptoms they will see their gp, however literature states pt case studies of not everyone getting classic bullseye and not everyone getting initial flu like symptoms…. So this individual develops long term complaints and is a greater economic and health burden to the economy So looking to set up pgds in high risk areas – highlands, exmoor etc and propose this with commissioning bodies to allow pts easier access to antibiotics for tick bites, this is additional work i do in my time i dnt get paid for as am trying to stop people from getting infected with lymes
