Humans used to drive the Cleverland Browns fall helmet pumpkin shirt and I love this old unproductive people into the wild untill some sjw put an end to it. (Just kidding, I don’t really mean it. I love my parents ) My wife and I (32 and 30 respectively) are currently going through that. Her mom is in her 70’s and disabled. Two strokes a couple years ago took her ability to walk, and now dementia has set in. Caring for her now dominates our every decision and our entire life together and my poor wife is burning out. If my experience here has taught me anything, it’s this. If we do have kids and I become old and disabled, I’d sooner have someone take me out behind the barn than put them through that. It’s selfish. What are the chances that they’ll be living on the other side of the country when you are old and need the care?

This might work in china where the Cleverland Browns fall helmet pumpkin shirt and I love this extended family lives together but that doesn’t apply in most western countries like the US. My Dad said this when I asked why to have kids. I’d never want a kid to think that’s why they were born. Idk that he’d’ve had kids if my mom wasn’t so into having them. Yeah I really hate this argument. ‘Oh BTW kids we only had you so you can be our caregivers. So forget any dreams you had of leaving the country or spending time with your own family, because you need to be available to us once we’re old.’ Also: parents be like: my adult kid needs a well earning often time consuming job, get married, give me lots of grandbabies, have a big house, expensive car. But also give me hours of unpaid care labor, because i birthed them, they owe me.
