At the Chop stilts yay shirt moreover I love this second store I worked as an overnight stocker. I had a coworker that was 100% deaf, but she was really good at reading lips. She always kept a pen and paper with her too as a backup form of communication. She was stocking an aisle in grocery, pretty close to the far end of the aisle. I was across from her stocking infants. There was a guy close to my end of the grocery aisle that was trying to ask her for help. Her back was turned to him, and he was nowhere near being in her line of sight. After his hellllloooooo’s got increasingly louder and annoyed, I finally politely told him that she’s deaf. If he needs her help, he needs to move to where she can see him and then she’ll be happy to help. I’ve had to tell this to a few other customers on previous occasions, and they were always totally understanding. Not this guy. He went on a rant about why would we hire someone who is unable to help customers. I told him that she’s perfectly capable of helping him, as long as he gets her attention first and yelling is not going to get her attention no matter how loud he tries to shout. She turned around halfway through his rant and signed asking if everything was okay, probably because the look on my face was not entirely customer friendly. I signed back telling her it’s fine and I’d fill her in later. He finished his rant that I mostly tuned out, somehow unfazed by me signing with her in the middle of his meltdown, then proceeded to ask me for help with whatever he was looking for and finally buggered off. I told her what happened and she said unfortunately it happens a lot.

Where to begin. Customer lost his crap because we didn’t know what “the Chop stilts yay shirt moreover I love this thing you put in the thing that makes the thing go” and he refused to even attempt to describe what he was talking about, he just kept yelling that we knew what he was talking about. He wanted batteries. Had a lady lose her mind and start throwing things because we didn’t carry any of this one seasonal flavor of ice cream. The flavor was haloween themed and it was April. And just today I had two women blow up on me and a coworker claiming we was following them because they were people of color and I was racist. I was just trying to give them back their bags the’d left in an isle. I wish I was kidding when right as I’d held out the bags one of the straps ripped and stolen stuff still in their packages spilled out onto the floor. Cops said their cars were full to the brim with shoplifted stuff. They were hauled off while still screaming that we were racist and had planted that stuff. Because we “moved ” the hush puppie mix even though it was in the same location it was in for close to 5 years and he was a regular in the store. He yell out ” where the fuck is the hush puppie mix you guys are always moving shit around here” I turned around and said it’s right behind you. He then proceeds to turn around pick up the box which was eye level by the way and say oh and then leave
