I don’t have kids but I feel this love towards my parents. I would die for them. I can’t imagine loving anyone more than them. Would I love a child more than them? You meet them as this tiny little, perfect little thing you created, reliant on you in a way your parents just aren’t. And to see them grow and blossom into these little people, it’s just something that feels unique to me, different and deeper than any other love. You absolutely love your children more than your parents. Children want to be loved, so you want to be your best self for them and show them the world. My parents loved their religion more than their kids and that makes a pretty big stain in one’s childhood memories. I don’t like to “rate” love as more or less. All love is valid. But it is very different. I love my mom so much. At any moment in history prior to having kids if I’d been put in a batman scenario of having to choose what person to save, it’d have been mom, no question. But the love I have for my kids is fierce. It boggles my mind sometimes. It’s like it’s ripping at my heart at every moment of the day, it never rests. It’s impossible to explain. I don’t think people who never feel that emotion (be that by not having kids, or having kids but never feeling that connection) are missing out though. It’s something different that I don’t think you can feel from any other experience…but there are infinite experiences and infinite feelings out there. We each choose our own menu.

It’s probably true but I honestly can’t imagine loving anyone more than mum and dad. They are my everything. I do everything for them especially now they’re getting older, nd I try to give them whatever they want. I look after them, cook for them and try to buy then whatever they want. If they have health scares I will not be able to sleep until we know results. If I go out with friends even for one day I miss them and have to call them and speak to them. When they go on holiday, we will call and speak to each other about 4 times a day. I can’t imagine my life without them it’s my worst fear. I sometimes have nightmares that something has happened to them and I wake up in the Chi Moines The Greatest Imaginary City In The Universe Shirt But I will love this middle of the night sobbing. I still live with them, and any noise I hear in the night I’m wide awake in case something has happened to them.
