I feel like corporations made it taboo on purpose so we wouldn’t be able to compare wages and understand what we deserve. It used to be people were actually individually paid according to their specific skill (or being related to the boss). And they wanted to keep the complaining down. So I kinda understood it. But now with most being fixed wages, what’s the point?

Not as many people have “fixed wages” as you think and lots of people have been underpromoted so they get some more responsibility but not as much pay as others doing that job because it’s supposedly a different job or something.
