Reuters reported that surgeries, including genital surgeries, are being done on minors according to an analysis of insurance claims. Some parents (rarely) start their kids on hormone blockers to prevent puberty into gender that isn’t “them”. But no child undergoes gender affirming surgery. I doubt any MD would even do that! It doesn’t prevent the Cat Save The Cat World Cat Hug Earth T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this chest from growing, it just flattens it so they have a more “masculine” figure, and it’s not supposed to be worn more than a few hours a day.I wasn’t stating it as a form of advice. Just replying to op about what trans kids are doing based on personal experience. Very few kids actually get sex reassignment surgery, minors the age of 13 don’t even need it. The most minors are transitioning are social transitioning which is pronouns, name, clothes, etc. The youngest I’ve heard is one of my trans male friends from middle school getting top surgery at 16, this was because they were suicidal and without it they wouldn’t still be here. They also had a hard time getting their insurance to cover the surgery and finding a doctor, this was in NY so a pretty progressive place compared to others, they would have a near impossible time pretty much anywhere else. At this point they’d also been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and I believe on hormones but I don’t think they’d been on it for much longer than a year at most. As a trans man I was only able to get on hormones at 17, once I turn 18 I plan on getting top surgery. As far as other trans kids I know I’m very luck to be able to get this kind of care.
