I don’t think I have seen a hot sauce that does say it needs to be refrigerated but I mostly just have Tapatio and Sriracha on hand. My brother in law. At Thanksgiving one year I was the first to eat the pumpkin pie and it was made of soured pumpkin. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings so I grabbed up the whole poe when she went into the kitchen, raced into the bathroom, and dumped the whole pie in luring the bite in my mouth, into the toilet and then had to plunge it down so she wouldn’t see it. What’s even funnier is no one at the table asked why I had grabbed a whole pie and ran into the bathroom and then came back out without it. They just saw my face and figured they didn’t want to eat that pie.More importantly, how are you all inserting the sauce? Not sure how to use this as a prophylactic. #hotfirebelow

I’ve had bottles of hot sauce on the counter for years. They don’t go bad, they contain preservatives (check the label!) and are quite acidic to boot. I don’t like wasting food I buy, even condiments. If it says to refrigerate the damn thing, I’m gonna put it in the fridge. Depends on the sauce.This argument again. lmao, this is the dumbest shit, some people are just really desperate for a bickering match. I hear you, but no thanks. It changes the consistency in an unpleasant way, and makes it much more of a problem to keep my sauce with me. I’ll take my chances with some hot sauce in my bag. I’ve got the blessing of the head of a hot sauce company that’s on Hot Ones right now even – they said it was a blanket FDA CYA requirement and not something that took their specific sauce into consideration. Hot sauce, peanut butter, jam, honey, cheese, pound cake, all be hanging out on my counter at different times depending on how fast I be eating it Some hot sauces can be placed outside of the fridge. I work for a salsa company and while the majority say refrigerate after opening there are sauces that are considered “table top” salsa. Think salsa you see in a restaurant that is always on the table.
