They take all of the Bob Buju Beres Bogle Beenie Bounty Barrington T-Shirt but in fact I love this donations they collect and donate in their own name then claim that donation on their corporate taxes. *edit: don’t know why I was downvoted. The companies that sell you shamrocks and other pieces of paper for donations really do this. I am not making it up. Ever since I learned that most of these corporation will donate the bare minimum they need for a tax cut, then keep the rest, I stopped donating. I would never donate through a company. They are not even required to donate all of what they collect, which means the majority ends up as their profits. Also the donation is a tax write off for them, so you’re really just opting to give the company more of your money out of imaginary guilt.

They get the Bob Buju Beres Bogle Beenie Bounty Barrington T-Shirt but in fact I love this dollar, donate it to charity, and put the donation in their own name, so they can get the tax credit. Your donation goes to their corporate tax write off. Basically you are helping that corporation pay down their taxes. Plus it’s a free goodwill gesture for them, AND they get the tax deduction that you would gave gotten if you donated the money directly Not to mention the corporation gets a tax break for the money it’s got it’s customers to donate. Basically you are just giving them more money. Always say no. They want my money and a tax break that goes with it. Donate directly to charities not through taco fucking bell. Besides the tax advantage a lot of people mentioned, it also gives them the opportunity to write a press release bragging about all the money they donated. To be fair. Alot of times these big corporations have already made the donation. And are just asking you to cover the cost of it. Still shitty. But a DIFFERENT shitty. It’s a scam for the companies to get a tax right off. Never give when they ask you. If you want to donate donate directly to the charity yourself
