That is EXACTLY why we shouldn’t ban gender affirming care. Puberty is a permanent change. I would be the Block Island Rhode Island Graphic Retro T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this happiest person in the world if i got the chance to “be my own advocate” and advocate for myself to not go through a puberty that made me intensely suicidal. Whether you wanna acknowledge them or not, natural puberty had “long term consequences” as well. If we let youth who are confused take puberty blockers, they can have time to think about their decision without their body going through changes that will put them at risk. And as someone that dealt with suicidal ideation and attempts I empathize but it took me nearly two decades to find some semblance of peace. I’m just worried that instead of finding a more balanced approach it’s just going to be an all or nothing situation.

Its really not an all or nothing situation. People start and stop hormones all the Block Island Rhode Island Graphic Retro T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this time. Notice a change you dont like? Stop. Want more changes? Ask your doctor about a higher dose. Want less changes? Lots of doctors including my own often recommend smaller doses for gender nonconforming people who want to be more androgynous. Dont want your body to change while you make your decision? Take blockers. All of this wouldnt be allowed under these bans. Rather than letting people experiment within the medical guidelines, they are banning the conversation entirely. That helps nobody and infact actively harms us. Mental/physical health is nuanced and there are so many variables and its distressing that this has been politicized.
