From what I understand, Wichita cops have a really bad record on use of force. SWATTING happens quite often in the US and it does result in the death of innocent parties. Cops simply often fail to use reasonable operating procedures in such cases. And it is ass simple to decide during the call. Any agency that is still being duped by a swatting call in 2023 needs to fire the top 3 layers of leadership.

I am aware of three people in Virginia who were swatted, one was in Prince William County and he was nearly shot during the Blessed 3rd grade daisy color birthday T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this event. In populous counties you never know who will be on duty when a call comes in. And if the responders don’t know you are likely to be the target of such an attack, you could wind up in real trouble. And those intent on causing trouble know this and count on it. I do 911 administration and every time there is a swatting attempt, the same indicators are present. That’s not even considering the way the call plays out. For every call I’ve listened to, it’s obvious. It wasn’t “obvious” in these instances though this was about 10 years ago. And it wasn’t obvious in Wichita. Maybe things are better now.
