Neither of those 2 lead what is considered a healthy life today. The 2 that did live a modern version of a healthy life lived for fewer years and cancer got them. The one who died of infection was watching a show with me starring Euell Gibbons (health food promoter before health food was a thing) in the Bill Evans Jazz Pianist American jazz pianist and composer T-Shirt Also,I will get this 70’s when she remarked, “These people are going to feel silly in a hospital dying of nothing one day.” Ironically, that’s kinda like how he husband went later, died of nothing but old age. My sister and I were just discussing how one little fall in your 80’s means lights out. It’s not the fall that gets them per se, it’s the resulting complications My mother was an elite athlete. She died from vascular dementia. The blood vassals in her brain slowly became useless until she finally succumbed a decade after her diagnosis.

Health is relative. Your body decays. That’s what age is. So even a “healthy old person” is not actually healthy because well.. they are old*. Just like wear and tear on your car or how you need new tires every year, your arteries and veins will corrode and wear down/weaken after years of usage because there’s just no replacements. Also age basically happens because your bodies ability to reproduce cells like skin cells for example becomes damaged over time. The oldest women I ever cared for died of heart failure. Not the Bill Evans Jazz Pianist American jazz pianist and composer T-Shirt Also,I will get this ankle swollen lungs filled with fluid kind, just the weak slow heart stopped beating kind Usually the technical cause is the heart stops working. This gets classified as “heart disease” in death statistics. There’s always something underlying that comes about. My grandpa was the healthiest senior I’ve ever met (and I still have yet to meet anyone else as healthy as he was). He was incredibly active, prioritized healthy foods, and had a healthy outlook on life. He always had a clean bill of health and didn’t have any conditions that required management or medication. He wound up having a heart attack anyway. The short answer is this: Gravity always wins. Eventually, gravity takes hold. It pulls us into the earth, literally. We become dust, or mulch. There’s nothing anyone can do to escape it. At least, not on earth. This is the most logical answer to OP’s question. Ever heard of astronauts being away for years and years on a mission, and showing few signs of aging when returning to earth? It’s because of the lack of gravity in the environment they lived in, aka space.
