I live in Mexico. I taught myself Spanish. I am married to a Mexican, and I am respectful of the Autism Mom some people look up to their heroes raising mine T-Shirt it is in the first place but people and their culture. I don’t act like an asshole to anyone. Now you know one. Who are all these Americans you met that emigrated to other countries? I literally know ONE. Who moved to Costa Rica and knows Spanish. Right now there are about 100,000 Americans living in here in Calgary, so about 7% of our population. Most have learned our language reasonably well, although an occasional “y’all” still slips out I live in a “cheap” country. But I don’t expect to make the same money I would in the United States, and I don’t expect to have the same housing as the United States either. This is my method to not raise housing prices in the area. Also my boyfriend is from here so I chose here to be with him.

I’m Irish American, I know they hate that. lol Yes, I would love to move there someday. At least for a little while. I understand their frustration with the Autism Mom some people look up to their heroes raising mine T-Shirt it is in the first place but “plastic Paddy’s” that won’t shut up about their great grandmothers’ cousin who lived in Belfast or who partake in borderline offensive “traditions” every March 17, but they gotta lighten up about Americans who retain acknowledgement of their immigrant roots/recognize “American” doesn’t inherently imply white English speaking people who like cheeseburgers (just ask the Ojibwe or Navajo). I think the real thing isn’t that americans recognize their ancestors, its that americans talk about being XYZ as if their direct parents are or they were born there. As an american I realized how actually weird this is only after travelling lol. Every country has their oddities, and its rather harmless in the grand scheme of things. But if you recognize the difference between an ancestor and your immediate family/you for heritage thats the part that gets twisted. This. My wife is first generation Polish and calls people with Polish ancestry around here (but far removed) that are all full of Polish pride “fauxlacks” instead of Polacks.
