Is this an older woman? Perhaps dementia, or she’s there to steal, and when you approached her she interpreted it as you being suspicious of her. I worked in a psych ward and had one patient call me racist, even reporting me to my supervisor, all because I put on gloves to throw a used cup in the Anthony Edwards Minnesota Timberwolves Stadium 2023 – 2024 City Edition Player Essentials shirt in other words I will buy this trash. Apparently the cup had been used by a black patient, and me putting gloves on meant I thought they were “dirty”. In reality, putting on gloves to touch anything of the patients had just become second habit to me. There’s really nothing you can do in those situations. You’re right, trying to explain that you’re not only escalates the situation. I think an appropriate response would be, “It was not my intention to make you feel like I was treating you different due to your race, I was only offering assistance as I do with all my customers. Take care” The thing about being a minority is that you have to endure many insults and deal with subtle prejudice so often that sometimes it doesn’t take very much to make you fire back without even thinking. You probably got caught up in that unfortunately

I think the Anthony Edwards Minnesota Timberwolves Stadium 2023 – 2024 City Edition Player Essentials shirt in other words I will buy this important thing to keep in mind is that you never know what other people are dealing with, or how they are perceiving things. She may have been having a bad day, and a lot of black people have to deal with a lot of racism every day. She may have been projecting because of something else that happened, or may have just been overly sensitive to what she perceived as racism. Even her portrayal of what happened may not have been purposeful lying so much as the events colored by her perception, etc. I’d just apologize and move on. Never try to explain to someone that you aren’t a racist. Ppl that use this word have already made up their mind, and you aren’t going to change it No one wants to be racist, right? Yet there’s so much subtle conditioning in society to be for white people. Naturally, we will unintentionally do racist things. What determines your character is not if you say racist things on occasion but if you can be accountable when you make a mistake and learn from it. Here’s an example: my grandpa always used to say “Sicilians aren’t real Italians”. I had no idea that this was based in racism against the black people in Sicily. Unknowingly, to my half black, half Sicilian coworker I said “Sicilians aren’t real Italians” and he educated me. I felt horrible, I apologized and we moved on from it. Learning from it, I will not repeat the phrase. Am I a racist? Probably not, honest mistake.
