When my family throws a bbq we either put in money towards the Anime lycoris recoil main duo character shirt In addition,I will do this food or bring a dessert. My grandma has finally put me in charge of mac and cheese. I’m kinda a big deal now Real homemade mac and cheese is one of the most expensive things on the menu. Now if you just going with craft or velveeta, I feel for your people. I’m in charge of the peach cobbler. I never felt such honor in my life when my cobbler surpassed my aunt’s when it was hers i strived to match. Mamma always told me not to go empty-handed. So. I always ask ahead of time if they need me to bring anything. Never been asked to bring meat though. If it’s close family like my sisters, I’ll bring almost anything they ask for. I have a good chicken marinade recipe so I’ve bought a whole marinated butterflied chicken. Otherwise my go to’s are cookie dough, fruit salad, or spiked punch. But it’s weird to me not to bring anything at all. In my conservative midwestern family, the men usually grab a meat they want grilled while the ladies prepare the sides. We all live close together so we drop off our meat early and the grilling always falls on the host. Idk man, food prices are really high and hosting a party for a lot of people can get out of hand. We are here for the good times, let’s all pitch in

In college no one had money or a house so we would post up at a park. Pretty much had to bring all your own food. Showing up empty handed you might have to be happy eating snacks I used to refuse invitations to these as I was a vegetarian. Then someone suggested I take along my own veggie burgers, and that was a gamechanger. The host didn’t have to bother with this, and usually the Anime lycoris recoil main duo character shirt In addition,I will do this hosts are considerate enough to grill my veggie burgers before putting the meat on. Win win! Nah, sometimes when I’m grilling I’ll tell people what’s on the menu. If somebody wants something that I don’t have or don’t have any plans to make I don’t mind grilling it if they bring it. I’m not cooking filets for the whole gang but if someone wants to bring one I don’t mind cooking it / letting them use the grill. I think especially for younger folks this is totally the norm. People want to see all their friends but might not be able to afford all the meat to do so. It’s understandable in some friend groups that everyone helps out to make a party happen.
