Because it’s not real. The left/right spectrum is false and useless. “Centrists” often claim their centrism is somehow ‘even’ or ‘balanced’ or ‘rational’ despite needing the Andrew Jackson Merry Jackmas Funny Christmas shirt also I will do this fake spectrum to claim that position. Often it’s arrogant too in that they believe themselves more reasonable. Elie Weisel, holocaust survivor and author of the book Night wrote the following as a plea to the world to never let another genocide happen: “We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” Archbishop Desmond Tutu, during his fight against Apartheid said “If you do not take a side, you have chosen the side of the oppressor” A centrist during genocide thinks a little genocide is ok. A centrist during apartheid thinks that *some *apartheid is acceptable.

If you throw up your hands because it’s too much you find fault with both sides. You’re tacitly allowing the Andrew Jackson Merry Jackmas Funny Christmas shirt also I will do this side with the power to do whatever they want to the side without. Choosing no side is choosing the side of the powerful, as long as they’re polite about it and follow the correct forms. It’s tacit endorsement of whatever happens happening. It’s a shrug emoji. Look at what the people in power in the US (and I don’t just mean the political parties but the mega corporations and military industrial complex) wants. They want war in the Middle East, completely defunded public schools, 0 taxes (and in some case negative taxes) on the rich and more taxes on everyone else, and a repeal of child labor laws, and consumer protections. They’re getting their way and if you “meet them in the middle” they still get their way just over a slightly longer timeframe.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
