The problem with using IQ tests for this purpose is that they don’t measure knowledge, reason, decision making skills, or most aspects related to successful employment. All IQ tests measure is a fairly abstract ability for pattern-recognition – which isn’t useless in determining intelligence, but is of pretty limited utility when screening for the traits of a good employee. Genuine IQ tests are expensive- if the employer is paying for them. It would be nearly impossible to get an applicant to pay for it themselves: going through the process of finding a neuropsychologist, taking the formal assessment, and waiting 3 weeks for the report back. For an employer looking to hire individuals with a high IQ, they aren’t very keen at considering the logistics. They should send a follow up saying since the majority of the company voted yes, they will all be required to complete the same test in the same time window. Those voting yes may have their scores factored in during raises and bonuses and for layoff decisions. In addition, all internal hires and promotions will have their IQ scores factored in. What would you say? Because it sounds like an easy S in the assignment and a way to get ahead without a problem for that person but most people here are saying it’s wrong.
