I’ve seen ads for things that have genuinely interested me. But I can not under any circumstance imagine actually clicking on the Alabama Football The Jalen Milroe Miracle shirt and I will buy this ad itself to learn more. I’ll open a new tab and search for the product/whatever in the ad. Even when I search things and the first link that shows up, I’ll skip down the the same link but isn’t promoted. Not sure why people would click on an ad even if they’re interested. Sometimes I see an ad, and I think, “That’s perfect for me! I should Google things like that to find the one that’s right.” They know we have it, like they know we have this ap on our Android device, but still make it on all these ads from them? You do understand that the ad still served its purpose then, right? Campaign performance is not purely measured on clicks – that’s just one of many measures of campaign success. Some digital ads aren’t even really intended to be clicked, they’re used to raise awareness so that you’ll remember it later on when you’re actively considering products. I watched a 5 minute video and had to watch 3 different ads, might as well go back to cable at this point, at least it was ads every 15 minutes Sometimes I’ll turn something on to go to sleep to, and I’ll wake up 45 minutes into an hour and and a half long ad, or suddenly be woken up by an ad that’s just a full ass shitty sound cloud rapper music video. If they had 3-5 second ads I’d be ok with it, annoyed but OK. Instead we get 5-10 minute ads routinely and some monstrous 45+ ones dumped in. So you can’t just put on a few songs and ignore the ads, you have to actively hover over your phone
