How do voids in concrete make it stronger? In my limited experience with concrete, voids make it more prone to cracking under weight. The voids don’t make it stronger. It’s stronger because it has a uniform structure. The flipside is that air generated by the chemical reactions to make the concrete also stays where it is, rather than bubbling to the surface. This makes the concrete weaker. If they could develop a way to keep the uniform structure of the zero-G concrete while also purging the air during mixing to prevent the voids from developing, then the resulting concrete would be even stronger.

Im thinking essentially spin it so there is the same force as 1G, making the bubbles bouyant and thus surfacing. Then once all the bubbles are gone, stop the spinning and mix it once more in zero G to get the even mix again. The bubbles won’t stop until its fully cured as its the chemical reaction/curing process that causes the bubbles. Ah fair enough. Perhaps applying it thin layers would work then, like a 3D printer. Let each layer cure before applying the next… though of course it would take a long time to build anything substantial that way. This would make it essentially the same as earth concrete (not taking advantage of the strengthening but also getting rid of the porous issue) which means it’s just expensive concrete that you have to spin
