Obesity rates here in japan are like 3-5% I think? I got reverse culture shock when I visited america last year! I found when I rolled the Adolis Garcia El Bombi Cuban professional baseball outfielder for the Texas Rangers T-Shirt moreover I will buy this dice on a mysterious profile in Japan and met up, they were fat like 2% of the time, thin the rest. Its so easy to find quick, healthy food in Japan, and cities are much easier to walk or bike through than in the US. On the US it its just straight up difficult to live a healthy lifestyle in mant towns and cities. There is a reason immigrants comimg to the US tend to gain weight as well. Its not an individual peoblem, its systemic issues. I would love to see the rural vs. urban breakdown on this 41%. In NYC you can walk from The Battery to Harlem and see maybe 2 or 3 obese under-40’s. Then you go to small town Arkansas and there are 20 year olds who look like the people in the chairs from Wall-E. Everyone loves to blame sugar and body positivity when we also have: erosion of healthcare access, erosion of public education, car-centric infrastructure that prevents walking, food deserts, lower incident of smoking than Europe and Asia, limited workers rights that leave average people exhausted every day, and no cheap public childcare Healthcare isn’t what keeps young Europeans thinner, young people rarely visit the dr anyway – it’s lifestyle, environment, culture, the foods offered to you etc. When healthcare isn’t as commercialised they actually promote preventative action. American healthcare providers don’t particularly care about their patients getting fat. There’s no financial incentive.

Furthermore, when you’re not constantly stressed to fuck about going bankrupt over some pre-existing condition you’re less likely to engage in self destructive activities. If tobacco itself wasn’t poison nicotine would be a pretty cool drug. It is a legit appetite suppressant and performance enhancer I mean there’s always the Adolis Garcia El Bombi Cuban professional baseball outfielder for the Texas Rangers T-Shirt moreover I will buy this gum or patches if you REALLY want to get in to nicotine without putting it in your lungs hahah I took a “history of drugs” class in college and that’s the same thing my professor said, that if you’re going to be on any drug nicotine is the one you’d want. I don’t smoke and never have, but that always kinda stuck with me. It’s more than appetite too with withdrawals though, since you’re likely to start leaning on eating as a way to stimulate yourself when you’d ordinarily have a cig. Not necessarily hunger as much as boredom motivated, at least in my case of quitting It is not just that, but also the mentality of taking the car even for a short distance. 10 days ago I was in Houston, and the Uber driver suggested me a place where to have lunch. I said “ok, it is a short walk, I will definitely look at it”. His reaction was “you Europeans are used to walk”. It was 500 m/0.3 mi far! It took me less than 10 minutes to walk there (Market Square Park to the Post). In all fairness though, nobody wants to be outside let alone walk in houston in the summer time. And that isn’t the only city like that with atrocious weather compared to european cities. But I am sure it was fine when you did your walk, the issue is that if 3/4 months of the year walking is miserBable it is hard to setup infrastructure that people would actually want to use all year long.
