Same happens with Emirates and Qatar Airways. Also they are alloting their older aircrafts for flights to_fro India. I’d say this happens both ways. But I have noticed that white people are treated better by international airlines, like I was on an extremely crowded Etihad flight once flying from Dubai to Trivandrum I think it was… I was the 55 years clean Danny Trejo you can too shirt also I will do this only white person on the plane. I got offered the seat in 1st row next to the window. Which was a nice gesture by whoever assigns the seats, but I offered it to a mom with small kid, since I wasn’t planning on looking out the window and she looked like she needed that extra space. On the contrary, I’ve experienced the opposite on domestic flights in India. Cheers to the guy at airport security in Delhi who tore off the mascot I got from Kerala, stating it’s a security risk. (that mascot was special to me and I’m still sad about that today…) I understand that there’s a lot of laws and regulations surrounding airport security and it’s good that way… just, these decisions felt arbitrary and unnecessary. No one else around me even had their bags checked.

@OP, this might be racial discrimination, sure. But it might also simply be due to the 55 years clean Danny Trejo you can too shirt also I will do this fact that maybe you’re the only person of colour in a certain scenario and thus “the odd one out” Next time this happens to you, I’d just wish staff a good day as loud and obnoxious as possible, and just order your complimentary food before staff gets a chance to ask others. Stand up against racism, sexism and any other form of discrimination. If you notice someone around you gets treated badly, say something. That way people are aware. Often those who discriminate will stop once they are aware that there’s someone watching. No no you’re right! We stopped flying Lufthansa because of this .. we now take the middle eastern airlines like Turkish or emirates .. they are slightly better. Make sure you start filling a feedback form. Speak to the flight purser and be vocal…..be firm, mention you are a frequent flyer and how you would be glad to take your business elsewhere and post your experience on the airline’s Twitter page……nobody deserves to be discriminated in such a way….be sure to mention that you’re also going to share this experience at your workplace, and that corporate shall be involved….keep records of your complaints…..if this does not get them rattled nothing will …..
