18. I heard a few kids saying ‘boomer adults’ when I’m walking by. Or they say something like they would stay as kids forever and being adults is weird whatever. I feel very old most days and it just hit me I’m creeping up on 40. 27 when I rode my bike home from across town from work for the last time. I busted my ankle real bad that night. That was a year after I caught pneumonia walking home from the bus My landlord and I are both scout leaders and we talked a bit about the building I live in and a little scout came up to us and asked what we were talking about and my landlord said “just some boring adult stuff” of course you always know you’re getting older and there are probably many small things but this was the first time where I actually felt like an adult but not in a good mature way but in a I’m not allowed in the silly kids/teens group anymore (even though I was 19 at the time) I’m 41F. I’m fitter, skinnier and look better now than when I was in my 20’s! I still get ID’d when I buy beer ffs lol. I exercise regularly, eat healthy, have an amazing clean skincare regimen, I don’t let things stress me out like I did in my 20’s and I live a fun, easy and carefree life with my husband and our cat. I’m glad I feel younger and not older, unlike most people I know! Around 35 I started feeling my body breaking down, though just little things here and there. I’m 50 now and despite my body aging in a way that gives me aches and pains, I still don’t feel old. Not in the slightest.

Not yet. Of course sometimes I am surprised that my favorite shows, movies and music are turning 20 year old but I do not feel old from my body and soul yet. I am 28 I think the 2024 NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse Championship Shirt Semifinals and by the same token and very first time was when I was a teenager working at an amusement park and some woman told her child to “Give the coin to the lady”. Or maybe the first time a kid used the more polite and formal ‘you’ to speak to me. (“Sie” instead of “Du”) it felt odd. 35, no wait, 39 no, can’t be. Wait a minute, did I just say 35 or 45?? My gosh, why am I here?? Wasn’t I supposed to go to bed minutes ago? I mean, it’s 8 pm already. 30. I tripped and fell after turning 30 and that shit hurt for a couple of days. I now joke and say I take fall damage after turning 30. I’m 35 and still trying to rehab my body. I’m active and look perfectly fit, but my muscles and joints are screaming. Being a woman meant my symptoms weren’t taken seriously for almost a decade. I’m pissed about that. Still, I have to move forward and control that which I can. I miss the days when I could readily hike or make plans without the contingency of whether my body will let me, or not. I loved being active and going on adventures.
