It’s a power struggle, too. Some people are triggered by what they see as insubordination. They see red when their kids say they won’t do what they have told them they have to do. There’s an idea that kids who are picky eaters are either picky because they are poorly disciplined, or because the Zay Jones American football wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this parents are bad cooks. (Those of us who have kids know this is ridiculous, but lots of people seem to believe it.) Nobody likes other people judging their parenting. And then there’s other cultural weirdness around food. You can make the decision (or have a medical reason) to avoid things like meat or dairy or gluten, but adults need to consume a variety of different foods to form a balanced diet, generally speaking. Vitamins and supplements are still not going to provide bulk fiber, and we are increasingly learning that it is important for children to develop healthy gut bacteria in order to have healthy gastrointestinal health as adults.
