It’s currently a rental. And doing the Your Future Is Created What You Do Today Kiyosaki T-Shirt in addition I really love this sums on the rent being paid compared to what the mortgage payments would be even with 40% clear funds deposit they are topping up $200 a week minimum. Yeah. Our one and only property (our home) of over 20 years has dropped in value by around $500k in under 2 years. In isolation that would be devastating, but it’s our home and over the 20-odd years we’ve been here we’ve seen it’s value increase by hundreds and hundreds of thousands. I still think of it as a $300k house. Realistically that’s what it should be. When it got to $1.4m I was quite frankly disgusted. And never once considered selling. ok I bought mine for $500K and have spent about the same extending and renovating and now it’s worth about what we spent. which feels right.

I’m not going to pretend to be an economic expert, but I do like to wonder if a great housing crisis might force the Your Future Is Created What You Do Today Kiyosaki T-Shirt in addition I really love this NZ electorate out of thinking about real estate and more about productivity in the way they invest. For decades, New Zealanders have been funneling money into property as an investment which never seemed to go tits-up, but were scared away from the sharemarket (despite the NZX50 being a long-term investment yield) after significant crashes such as the 1987 market crash. A hard reset might end up being positive for the longer term future in how New Zealand as a nation looks at their investments, at the cost of some pretty real short term struggle. I usually look to NZ to try and predict what’s going to happen 6 months later in Oz. This served me well when covid kicked in. I managed to get in and ride the +30% gains bro!
