I’m like black coffee: an acquired taste that people tend to either really like or they can’t be bothered and I’m fine with that. Some people will let some small aspect of your personality that they don’t like define their entire perception of you. Those aren’t typically people you want to be friends with. Don’t sweat it. Because some people are not going to like you and don’t need a reason to. They’re just not going to. This is OK I’ve found out. Sometimes, you don’t want them to like you: they’re flawed in their own way that would seriously not be right with you to the YOU CLICKING TO ME Shirt it is in the first place but point where you would not want them in your life anyway. At one point, when I didn’t know I suffered from not one, but TWO different types of depression (one of them being genetic, thanks abusive parents!), I attempted suicide because I thought being “nice” was the way, but it seemed that nobody liked me, or at least that was what I thought was the case. Turns out that our warped, screwed up perception of ourselves from the wrong people, including those who are supposedly close to us like family, can be the cause of some very fucked up paradigms about ourselves.

I learned that my own mother, in a conversation with my sister I wasn’t supposed to hear, viewed me as an eternal fuckup and disappointment that wasn’t going to amount to anything. They’ve called me much worse to my face over the YOU CLICKING TO ME Shirt it is in the first place but years, but to hear that being told to others was rather….not disappointing. It just confirmed what I already knew. So I became free of their fucked up expectations for me and their attempts to sabotage me into their fucked up viewpoints of me. I wasn’t depressed, sad or angry anymore. I was determined, motivated, and most of all, PISSED! Anger and revenge became my best friends, and motivators for success. They’re VERY effective. I have a few friends that are “hard to take” for me. I find them loud and somewhat abrasive. I have to limit my interactions so I don’t start to actively dislike them.
