Jeans with small pockets fit better and look sleeker. Most women carry more than a phone and keys. Most men only carry a phone and keys. The answer of why women’s jeans have small pockets is obvious. The younger trend is baggier jeans which have bigger pockets and most women/girls still carry a bag Strange almost like woman buy the ones with smaller pockets though on mass more then people like you complaining for no reason instead of just buying different jeans? Otherwise they would have changed it. Serious question, why would a jeans manufacturer care about that? Do they all also have a vested interest in the handbag industry? Also, women carry around so much stuff in their purses that they wouldn’t fit in anything but in a JNCO pants’ pockets anyways. Some time ago a woman decided that a pair of pants she designed wasn’t sleek enough so she took out the pockets to make it look better on the model who was gonna wear it on the runway. Male designers thought this was a GREAT idea and made the pockets either smaller or completely took them out of pants under the guise of aesthetic and handbag sales began to boom. Most handbag designers were also male, and of course they were the ones that benefitted the most.

Now we’re forced to spend 50$ on a decent pair of pants and an additional 50$ on a decent handbag while men can buy a perfect pair of pants for like 20$. Dude- the lay-out of women’s pants isn’t made for that. Take them to the tailor and you’ll always see the pocket bulging from the inside against the fabric and the cut out for the pocket entry will remain tiny. If I can’t fit my thumb into a pocket a tailor won’t be able to adjust it without removing half of the fabric that’s just pants and not pocket. Edit: that’s also not taking away from the fact that women’s clothing is grossly overpriced and getting a tailor to adjust things just adds to the cost.
