Fuck this YOU CAN GO TO HELL IM GOING TO TOYOTATHON T-Shirt also I will do this incompetent useless waste of space. Get you a real man who can provide. Who can cook. Who can clean. Who will take care of you like you will take care of him. You gave him eight months worth of “chances”. This extreme level of incompetent helplessness is just not attractive, it’s good that you are moving on. He doesn’t sound like a partner. He sounds like a 3rd dependent. You are already a single mom, but he showed no effort to even WANT to learn or step up? What was he adding to your life? Seems to me that, from a purely utilitarian perspective, there was no use being in a relationship with him since he doesn’t do or add anything, especially since you have 2 children and are working so hard.

Not being able to cook, in isolation, isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The rational response for someone who values equality in the YOU CAN GO TO HELL IM GOING TO TOYOTATHON T-Shirt also I will do this relationship is to say, “You do the cooking, but I’ll do all the dishwashing and cleaning around the kitchen to make it equal.” It sounds like the cooking issue was the trigger for a much larger issue regarding his inability to do basic chores around the house. I was worried by the title, but after reading the rest it’s obvious that it’s the stubbornness and ignorance of a grown man being unable to be an adult. On the cooking, this recipe was too hard for a complete beginner, even prepped with the sauce already made. But if he screwed up the breakfast and brought you toast and tea in bed while doing his share of the house work you probably wouldn’t have dumped him. He was your boyfriend, not another child. I agree with your mum that you are well shot of him.
