Seems at least part of the Year of the dragon 2024 chinese new year bloodmoon T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this problem is people not taking these seriously despite easily being able to cause injuries if someone’s not careful, not wearing a helmet, etc. they’re treated similarly to bikes most places, so that seems to be the standard. if one wants to make a point against that standard and claim they’re more dangerous then that claim needs to be substantiated. So the real danger is all the cars everyone is using, or maybe it’s a lack of infrastructure, but it’s not scooters. The correct rephrasing of your argument is “we need to rebuild our infrastructure so mixed modes of transportation are more viable” not “the scooters are so unsafe.” What’s the difference with a bike ? If a rental e-scootter cannot be driven safely in a city then neither can a bike Rental scooters are way to slow and are dangerous in bike lanes. E-bikes throttled at ~18mph would be much safer. Rental scooters were slowed down as ordered by the law. You can’t make a law so they’re slower and then say they’re too slow It’s not a difference when it’s made up by law. It’s like saying a porsche is different from a ferrari because you just passed a law forcing porsches to only have three wheels

I’m not talking about hypothetical situations like you are. I tried a scooter recently, they are throttled for safety, and are slow enough to be vastly different than bikes. If they’re slowed down for safety but they’re too slow to safety navigate on bike lane, you see the Year of the dragon 2024 chinese new year bloodmoon T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this issue, do’nt you ? Rental companies likely don’t do that because exponentially more dead customers the faster they go. Privately owned scooters are probably much faster and easier to use. But that’s not what we’re talking about so much as the ubiquitous rental scooters. Woosh? Rental scooters are throttled to limit deaths of idiot renters. Of course on purpose. They aren’t the same ones regulating use on roads/sidewalks/bike lanes. Your comment is a conflated mess of what we’re talking about.
