I started out as a seasonal technician in 2012 at $10 an hour. I now work at $18 an hour doing full time sales / website development/ Graphic design/ and general IT. I know with pay compression, new employees start to make more and more money each year. But should it outpace someone who has been at the company for as long as I have. And to top it all off, Our company announced that because of COIVD they are not doing and raises this year.You start applying elsewhere and quickly leave once hired. Its salary compression. The hiring manager is well aware of wages and they know they need to hire according to current market rates. The HR and company will not give a fuck about your loyalty and your salary. They will never adjust your salary either. Don’t rely on your organization for your future. I don’t mean to be harsh. This happened to me early in my career. I have no loyalty towards any company. My goal is always me, what i can gain and how much i can take from any and all companies i work for.

100% this. There is also no better way to increase your pay than hopping companies. Regular salary adjustments are just nowhere near that, even with promotions.
