No clue it’s a shit thought process but a common one I agree. My initial thoughts is that I wouldn’t really call it homophobic primarily. Probably more misogynist first and homophobic second. He’d probably feel that his male best friend hooking up with a guy was VERY serious and obviously meant he was gay. Kind of a stretch but I get it. OP literally said he’d divorce her if she was cheating with a man??? I posted this up above somewhere, but I suppose I’ll add it here too. It comes down to our natural biological instincts and the uncertainty of paternity. We have very strong natural instincts telling us to keep other men away from our mate, but those same instincts generally don’t apply to other women. Without the overwhelming revulsion and emotional shock generated by those instincts, you’re pretty much just left with the rational/logical reasons for being upset in this situation.. and while those are absolutely important, they don’t hit nearly as hard on an emotional level. Imagine you’ve got a phobia. Say, spiders. Most people don’t like spiders. If I surprise you with a picture of a spider, a big nasty one.. and all close in so you can see details you definitely did not want to see.. well, you’d probably react quite viscerally to that. Crawling skin, existential dread, that sort of thing?

Now imagine I show you a picture of a white bunny rabbit. It’s all cute and fuzzy, sitting in some grass on a sunny day. Except, I somehow manage to make the X Mas Gundam Christmas 2023 shirt it is in the first place but most convincing argument in the world that this rabbit is in fact a spider, at least in every way that matters. You totally agree that it is a spider. Are you still going to have the same visceral reaction to this picture as you did to the first picture? Almost certainly not. You may logically agree that this is a spider, but your instincts aren’t kicking in and screaming at you that the big scary bug is going to eat your soul. I’m seeing a lot of people saying the OP’s reaction is homophobia or something similar.. and they’re both right, and entirely wrong. Men almost universally share a phobia I’m not sure we even have a name for, or that I can even quite put into words. Losing our partners to another man perhaps? I don’t think that quite covers it, but it’s close enough. The lack of that phobia when it comes to women isn’t sexism or homophobic, and it isn’t any more wrong than being afraid of spiders but not snakes.
