I feel like it is just rude to have that shit on in public, and got out of the Woo Pig Sooie – Wild Boar T-Shirt and I love this habit of having the phone do anything but vibrate. The whole Wal-Mart doesn’t need to know my mom is asking 50 questions. Speak for yourself. I have custom everything even though my phone has basically been on vibrate since like 2013 About the time the phone ringing stopped meaning someone was trying to get a hold of you, and instead meant some con man was trying to steal from you. When was the last time you talked to someone not already on your contact list? Custom ringtones were a fun novelty when they first became available, but the novelty wore off. We didn’t all agree not to change them, we just got bored of it.

We didn’t use our phones for much so we NEEDED ringtones to get our attention to them. They could have been across the Woo Pig Sooie – Wild Boar T-Shirt and I love this room, or packed away in your bag, etc. Now your phone is perpetually in your pocket or on your desk. You don’t need audio for ringtones because the phone is right there and you will see/feel it ring. Does anyone remember when we had the option to change the tone a person heard while waiting for us to pick up the phone to a popular song instead of the standard beeeep–beeeep? Tried to set one on iPhone the other day they want money. Fuck that so I tried to make it myself but had to download iTunes FUUUUCK THAT At first, everyone was able to just snag a ringtone for free off whatever. Then phones started requiring people use the company’s specific ringtone app to change the ringtone, and that app was the only source of tones they could use, but it was still pretty much free. Then people started suing or threatening to sue over copyrighted music in those apps. Instead, the phone companies just started charging for copyrighted music – a small fee to cover the royalties, but there were still free ones, and sometimes you could make your own to circumvent that system. Then they made it so only 8 or so default tones were free. That was right about when everyone decided ringtones were fun, but ultimately worthless, and with nobody paying for them those systems of getting ringtones – they shriveled from no one buying anything, and that pretty much died. The phone companies made ringtones less of a hassle, and mostly free again, but the damage was done. Everyone, hating the stupid default rings, just started exclusively using vibrate. And everyone just liked it better. And now it is how it is. My phone is always on silent, unless I’m expecting a call while doing other stuff. It still takes me a sec to figure out why the Castle theme tune is playing in my house.
