Honestly one of my coworkers has the Woo Pig Sooie Slime T-Shirt and I love this screaming goat as her text tone and it scares the ever-loving shit out of me every time. (It’s always up at full volume too.) Can you imagine working for hours in a quiet office environment and suddenly having the peace shattered by the ear-splitting screams of a rabid goat? During one particularly tough week at work during a natural disaster, one of my colleagues had his ringtone set as a song I loved. By the time we had dealt with the disaster and we could all go home I must have heard his phone go off nearly a thousand times. I still hate that song today, and that happened 16 years ago. It was the iPhone. It came with a good stock set of decent ringtones that didn’t play your carrier’s jingle, easy to choose one that worked, little point in changing it, and it was kind of a status symbol when it first came out: everyone knew those ringtones so anyone who heard it knew you had a high end phone. And with the App Store there were waaaay better ways to customize your phone now. Why change your ringtone when you can install a koi pond? When Samsung chose to go upmarket with Android they did the same stuff. The ring tone market dried up right then and there. Bottom line, there are better ways to customize your phone now.

Because society got annoyed about people making a lot of noise on their phone. That’s why you rarely see people talking on their phone in public and usually just texting. There are still those few assholes who will tik-toks on full blast in public Although, my iPhone ringtone is actually a different one than the Woo Pig Sooie Slime T-Shirt and I love this default. But that’s only because my dogs bark when the default one rings for some reason. Literally the only reason I changed it, apparently my dogs just aren’t a fan of it lol. When iPhones came out that default ringtone became a status symbol, so people either just ran with that or threw it on vibrate. And here we are. My general tone is “Devils Never Cry” from Devil May Cry with the tone for my wife being “San Sebastian” from Sonata Arctica. Her general one the Claw Machine music from Persona 5, and her tone for me is the main theme from Skyrim.
