I wandered into r/conservative today. Their hot take on this is that it’s illegal as the Women want me fish fear me shirt in contrast I will get this protest are trying to influence a case and that’s illegal. Asking for civility in the face of systemic violence is playing right into the oppressors’ hand. If we spend all of our time policing how people protest, then, conveniently, nothing will get done to attack the root of the issue. It’s nothing more than an attempt to derail the public conversation surrounding reproductive rights. He chose a public role for life, and he is beholden to all of us. He doesn’t get to hide when he makes a decision 80% of the populus disagrees with. It’s nice people are noticing now, but it’s too little too late. We’ve been screaming, loudly, from the left for decades about all the evil shit the GOP will do and the corpo Dems would let happen only to be slapped down by the civility police in the media and online.

Guess it’s welcome to reality time for those finally realizing that civility in the Women want me fish fear me shirt in contrast I will get this face of authoritarian take over does nothing but make the oppressor’s job easier. Seriously! How many women are going to die because of this anti-abortion nonsense? The Supreme Court is going to murder women with this pending ruling. Murder is murder regardless if it is committed by a gun or with the stroke of a pen. They are committing violence against women with this. A violent action demands a violent response. Protest is only allowed when it is a request for the ruling class and a not particularly pushy one. It is not ok when it is an ultimatum. This is the standard they want. It boggles my mind that people forget that most of the basic rights we take for granted today were paid for in blood but all of a sudden now we can only organize if we have a permit, be in the designated protest zone, and don’t you dare even look violent or so-help-me-god you’ll be labeled as a radical anarchist.
