I’ll tell you what you’re not supposed to say. You’re definitely not supposed to say, “you’re fat. Don’t blame it on the Winter stegosaurus 2023 Christmas shirt besides I will buy this dress.” The way you described it: that it’s tight and loose in different places, was fine enough. Sometimes clothing isn’t constructed well for someone’s body, has nothing to do with fatness. I am autistic so take this answer with that context: when I am asking if something looks good on me I am just asking if it’s flattering and I do want the truth. If I didn’t want the truth I wouldn’t ask. However I don’t use language like “makes me look fat.” Mostly because I am fat so that question is moot. If you’re out shopping, you can point out places where the fit isn’t right or causes skin to bunch up or buttons to look stretched or whatever. So, provide specifics when shopping, don’t just say “yes”. You can say “no, you look amazing” but be honest so that she doesn’t buy something she doesn’t end up liking herself in.

If she is putting it on at home before going out, and it’s something (new) she already owns, you love it, it’s great, no problems. If it’s something she’s owned for years (and you’ve been together for years and have a rapport of trust built up), it’s ok to suggest it should be retired, as things don’t ever fit us the Winter stegosaurus 2023 Christmas shirt besides I will buy this same as we age. You say “no not at all I just thought B looked better”. Never say anything about being fat, looking fat, or anything involving fat to her. Even if she’s fat as shit you pretend like she’s malnourished. My girlfriend and I tease each other about our weight all the time. I’d be honest. We both lost a lot of weight a few years ago so if we ever start to put on the pounds again we call it out pretty mercilessly. You should say “it doesn’t fit your body right”. It never feels good to hear something bad about the look of your body even though you want the truth on if you should wear the clothing. It can be a tricky thing though to know what to say

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
