For me it’s that people rarely have the Willie Gay Jr. Kansas City Name Bar American football linebacker T-Shirt in addition I really love this energy to act in their best interests. I can so clearly imagine a day where we all had the energy to knock on a neighbour’s door and just ask for a chance to meet them, or to talk to the person next to us on the bus, or to really deeply research our country’s entire political history before voting, or to avoid using fossil fuels, or to eat healthier, or to put down our phones except then they’re really good for us, or to confess our hidden loves and deal with rejection, etc. In a really big way all it would take is more energy but we usually have this finite, and often small, amount of energy to devote to these problems. In my worst moods, I see every small problem as a tragedy because all it would have taken to solve is for a few more people, often just one, to care a little more and put in a little more energy. For example, if I had the energy to deal with any repercussions, I could offer the man who sleeps on the sidewalk in front of my building a chance to sleep in my car or my living room, but I don’t have that energy, and neither, apparently, does anyone else in my apartment.

I think what I find tragic is that we generally can summon energy from time to time or for any individual task, but not for everything. It’s a lot like Sylvia Plath’s fig tree but for problems to solve rather than for paths forward in life. Nobody cares about you more than you do. Don’t believe anyone that says otherwise. At the Willie Gay Jr. Kansas City Name Bar American football linebacker T-Shirt in addition I really love this end of the day everyone has their own best interests at heart. We are a selfish species. That we will never truly know what comes after death. I believe that nothing happens, but I could be wrong. But unfortunately, there’s no way of knowing. Loving someone and giving them your time, full effort, affection and loyalty doesn’t guarantee they won’t hurt you or betray you.
